Depression and anxiety are the most common mental health concerns on campus. We all can feel lost, alone, or overwhelmed. Formal therapy can feel daunting and intense, but imagine a clinically-validated therapy (no cost or insurance required) where you talk through what's on your mind with people who know what it feels like. HUGPT is a safe space where students support each other in building healthy and fulfilling relationships that can meaningfully reduce depression and anxiety. Sign up for a brief chat to learn more!

By Mid-September
The initial consultation is a collaborative conversation about your background and what IPT-G involves to better understand if IPT-G would be a good fit for your needs and desires. We'll get back to you as soon as possible about whether IPT is a good match for your needs after discussion with HUGPT's CAMHS supervisor. Please note that this is in no way a comp — you are not being ranked or rated. It is purely to ensure that HUGPT is able to be helpful in your specific situation.
Mid-September to October
The initial sessions are focused on establishing a healthy group dynamic. They center around getting the group members acquainted with each other and understanding the different struggles that every person is going through. This sets the foundation for the later sessions.
October - November
The middle sessions are focused on digging deeper into each individual’s personal challenges (we’ll usually focus on 2-3 people a session) where, together, we talk through what one of the person’s primary challenges are, why it occurs, and possible steps to take to mitigate the situation.
Early December
The final session is the end of the treatment. In this session, we’ll reflect on the semester, progress made, and set out strategies to ensure that progress is sustainable and not temporary. Here, we’ll also talk about other mental health resources for continued or further support.
